Extended snakes The original Rubik's snake (or Rubik's twist) had 24 pieces. Below are some of the most common patterns. I have made an applet that allows the patterns to be rotated in 3D, uncoiled step by step, and put together again. ![]() ![]() Longer versions of the snake are now for sale, but there are very few shapes to be found. Below I give some patterns for the 48-wedge and the 72-wedge snakes, some gathered from the web and some I have made myself. The shapes for the 48-wedge snake can also be made with two original (24-wedge) snakes, while the shapes for the 72-wedge snake require three original ones. I would appreciate receiving new shapes for extra-long snakes, including other lengths than those shown here. Send to: ![]() ![]() Maintained by Øistein Holen. |
